Department for research and technology transfer of the University of Applied Sciences in Hagenberg

In the University of Applied Sciences, the department for research and technology transfer is the interface between teaching, science and industry. Our main function is technology transfer first of all between local companies but also maintaining the status of technology in teaching, research and service. Furthermore we have become integrated in local and also in international research network.

Focus points:

- Bio- and Medical informatics:
Bio- and Medical informatics is focusing on information systems for the healthcare sector and biotechnology. Especially we have great experience on development of simulation systems based on virtual reality technologies which enables operations as much as possible close to reality.

- Software technologies:
In this broad area of applications we are implementing our know-how in the field of programme development. In addition to applications and development of modern software architectures for heterogeneous and distributed systems, we are mainly dealing also with mobile agent technology, web engineering and mobile computing. 

- Business and industrial applications:
This area is concentrating on development of applications in the fields of finance, administration and industry. Especially we are concentrating on distributed systems, component models and architectures for web-applications in the fields of electronic commerce, mobile commerce and other similar areas.
