University degree studies at FAW

FAW – Institute for Applied Knowledge Processing offers courses of studies in the fields of Informatics and Business Informatics at the Johannes Kepler University Linz.

The study courses begin with basic studies of information systems for computer scientists (lectures and practice on information systems, 2. semester). In the study course Informatics and Business Informatics, it is possible to do the second study part in FAW. The following special study courses are available: data modelling, application-oriented knowledge engineering, web engineering, information retrieval and hyper media technics, information systems, knowledge engineering and special section of information systems. According to degree course scheme, the purpose of the second study part in the study course Informatics, is personal concentration on studies. The content of this study course is interrelated combination of 17 elective courses including 10 courses long practical training. This can be completed in FAW. In addition to this, the co-workers in FAW are advising numerous students in their diploma thesis and degree dissertation.
