International research is the innovative power of the Softwarepark that comes from the university research institutes and from the University of Applied Sciences, which are located in Hagenberg. These research institutes are taking care of the growing number of international PhD-students from 25 different countries, who are spending 3 – 5 years in Hagenberg because of their research work. Addition to that comes the numerous guest researches. The planned Johannes-Kepler-International-Graduate-School for Information Technology is going to increase considerably the number of graduate and post-graduate students in Hagenberg. 

The importance of the PhD –programme for the technological development of Europe has been stressed out in the year 2003 by the European Union. This is why Softwarepark wants to expand the PhD –programme to meet these future requirements.

International students and guest researchers will need their own living space with international flair. This thing has risen up in the discussion with the people who are concerned to this living situation. For these international people an own guesthouse that makes the flat-share flexible is already being planned. The new guesthouse will fulfil these needs completely.
