The International School for Informatics (ISI-Hagenberg) will be a new international educational institution that offers master and bachelor degrees in informatics for international students. Based on the research and teaching expertise and international research reputation of the Johannes Kepler University in Linz and the Upper Austria University of Applied Sciences in Hagenberg, ISI-Hagenberg guarantees highest quality in its educational programs. In addition, to profound education in topical areas of informatics, ISI-Hagenberg provides "integral studies" (Middle European culture, history, philosophy, social program, etc.) for its students.

In the meantime, Softwarepark Hagenberg has become an area with many different buildings with various uses. To help people find their way around better, a classic guidance system (signposting) was introduced last year. In order to make it even easier to find the different buildings, companies, research and educational facilities, the intention is to now extend the signposting and also introduce a modern format (electronic guidance system).

The Hagenberg Castle was the starting point of the whole Softwarepark, because the RISC (Research Institute for Symbolic Computation) was the first institute, which was located there. The castle is a symbol of historical roots and also a symbol of economical innovations in the field of international research. All the possibilities for the castle as a congress and conference place have not yet been fully utilized.

Presently there are approx. 2.000 persons involved in the Softwarepark Hagenberg (employees, students, visitors). The problem is that there are no free time activities in Hagenberg. That is why new and sufficiently large sport facilities are needed extremely urgently. After the settlement of the secondary school in Hagenberg the sport facilities are urgently required.

International research is the innovative power of the Softwarepark that comes from the university research institutes and from the University of Applied Sciences, which are located in Hagenberg. These research institutes are taking care of the growing number of international PhD-students from 25 different countries, who are spending 3 – 5 years in Hagenberg because of their research work. Addition to that comes the numerous guest researches.
