The goal of this project is to build a biomechanical, interactive 3D simulation of the human eye, its orbita and its muscles, to simulate common surgical eye muscle operations (transposition, shortening, splitting, etc.) in a graphic interactive way that is familiar to an experienced surgeon.

VirtMould – Simulation and testing of the injection moulding systems (ENGEL)

The goal of this project is the development of a simulation of the injection moulding machines from existing CAD and hydraulic plans. This simulation is going to integrate in existing SPS simulation module, so that the SPS software can be tested in PC.

Meniscus – Modelling of the mould powder stream in meniscus area of the chill-mould during continuous casting (Voest Alpine)

The goal of this project was the construction of general Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) model together with implementing suitable algorithms, which by given boundary conditions are specifying the stream of the mould powder and the movement of line surface in meniscus area of the chill-mould during continuous casting.

Compensation of deformations at bending machines (TRUMPF)

When bending sheet metals deformations occur at the bending machine, leading to inaccuracies at the bending edge of the sheet metal, i.e. the bending angle varies along the edge of the work piece. So far this problem could only be solved by a firmer machine construction, adjustment of the table and by manual skew of the bending bar.

Data plausibility Analysis during automatical Measurements at Engine Test Stations (AVL)

During automatical measurements at engine test station sometimes errors occur, which lead to false results. Now, the goal was to implement methods which reach a similar or even better error detection rate by keeping the overdetection rate as low as possible.
